A social chess club for players who are just getting hooked on the game, and those who have been playing for years.
Quick rounds that keep the energy up and feature the inevitable crowd-pleasing blunders. You'll get several games in a night.
Players who love chess and are looking for social competition, great atmosphere, and a few laughs.
Regular enough to build a crew. We handle the pairings, you just show up.
No membership, no commitment. Sign up, show up, play.
New players are required to have a Chess.com account and an ELO of 600 or more. Players are paired by rating so games stay competitive. Rapid time controls keep things moving. Between rounds, hang out and talk chess with whoever just beat you.
We'll usually set up a Swiss-style tournament through Chess.com each night to ensure multiple pairings and an opportunity to come out as the winner. If that's not your thing, feel free to come by and grab a couple games on the side. The purpose of Knights Out is not to be pressure packed — just good games and good company.
We started Knights Out because we wanted a place to play chess with people who care about the game and want to have a good time meeting others while continuing to improve. A spot where you can learn a new opening, laugh about the game you just blundered away, and leave having made a connection with someone you genuinely want to play again.
The format is social by design. You'll play several rated games, get matched with people near your level, and have plenty of time between rounds to meet the group. Over time you'll start to recognize faces, track your progress, and build a rivalry or two.
Not sure if Knights Out is right for you, or just want to know more before signing up? Send us a message and we'll get back to you.
